ANES 2020 Time Series - Short Introduction

Short Introduction to the SDA version of the 2020 ANES Time Series Data File (released July 19, 2021)

Note: This version of the dataset does not have the full text of questions in the codebook. However, the long label and the category text for each variable usually contain most of the question text.

• Mode of Interviewing
  • Web (N=7,782)
    Use the variable 'V200002 = 3' as a filter variable to select only the Web cases.

  • Video (N=359)
    Use the variable 'V200002 = 1' as a filter variable to select only the Video cases.

  • Telephone (N=139)
    Use the variable ‘V200002 = 2’ as a filter variable to select only the Telephone cases.

• Weight Variables
  • V2000010a - Pre-election weight - full sample. (This is the default SDA weight variable.)
