Public Work Area for Recode and Compute
The SDA site provides an option to run the RECODE and COMPUTE
programs on some of the most commonly used datasets.
These programs allow you to
create new variables
derived from
existing variables in each dataset.
The new variables are placed into a
public work area,
which
is available to all users of the SDA Website.
Note the following:
- Please delete new variables you created but no longer want to use.
- Anyone can overwrite or delete a variable
in the public work
area.
We urge users to be considerate of the work of others, but we
cannot enforce such behavior.
- The new variables
will not remain in the public work area
indefinitely.
When the work area gets too full, we will have
to delete some of the variables, beginning with the oldest ones.
- If you want a more permanent and private work area, we can
set one up for you, but there will be a fee for doing so.
